I have known TOEFL since the first semester I was in UIN Ar-Raniry. I started my TOEFL journal with some books I bought or I read in library. I found a little interest on studying the tips and tricks on TOEFL, and now I mostly dedicate my spare time teaching TOEFL. In this writing, I will share a little bit tips on how to deal with TOEFL.
The first tip is to build your commitment. Actually, I never enrol to any English courses in my life. The only English absorption is coming school- which never teach about TOEFL-. So I build those skills alone, just by myself. I admit that perhaps, from almost all of my friends in school and college, I study harder. What I want to say is, you have to have the willing to do whatever you want to do. It is useless to expect for 600 as your score, but you don’t do anything about it. Commit to yourself, even if there’s nobody watches you.
The second tip is to study. It doesn’t matter if you enrol in special TOEFL course or you just do a self study, you got to study. Keep up your concentration, think about it, try to understand, and feel it. I don’t have any suggestion for people who want to start studying, all I keep saying is to never stop learning and never stop asking questions –in case if you don’t understand-, because there’s no silly question. The only stupid question is the question left unasked- unknown.
Finally, Pray. As a Muslim, I always believe that Allah is over everything. If you want to be good at something, ask for it and work for it. We –Muslim- know that when our knowledge is never remaining ours, it always belongs to Allah. Therefore, we only ask Allah for anything we want, including knowledge. And I believe, Allah will give it to you. You only need to work for it and be patience on it.
All in all, I really hope that these tips could help you. As I always say: Big thing won’t easy, Easy thing won’t big. Don’t worry if you are now still fail to learn TOEFL, keep trying and working on it because there is no result which is betrayed by the effort.
